Books at the Cornerstone Store

Chris Rise has posted his List of Books I'm bringing down to Cornerstone Festival this year. He's involved with the CStone Book Store so look for them there.

I picked up
Hammers & Nails: The Life and Music of Mark Heard by Matthew Dickerson is 2003 and it's a must read for any Mark Heard fan.

BBQ

An Invitation: Lunch & Conversation, RMC&BBQ--An Even Dozen

You are invited to the Twelth Annual Cornerstone RMC BBQ!

Wow--twelve years and going strong!

What: a gathering of on-line music fans will take place at Cornerstone Festival in central Illinois and you are invited!

When: From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2005,

Why???? Because this has proven to be a great opportunity for you and a whole lot of other folks you only see online from throughout the United States, Canada, and the rest of the world to meet face to face. This is always a nice time out from C’stone’s schedule to re-connect or hook up an email address with a face. Did we mention shade, lunch, celebrities, and the free store? Here are the particulars:

Who: If you can read this, you are invited. Although originally designed as a place for usenet newsgroup rec.music.christian (R.M.C.) regulars to meet face-to-face, participation has grown to include many like-minded email lists which have kept the free-wheeling spirit of R.M.C. alive in these changing technological times. (We'll change the name when no one can remember what R.M.C. stands for any more. . .we're getting close. . .)

When: Thursday, June 30,, 11:30 a.m., until the music, seminars and press conferences start back up.

Where: The Press Tent located on a road that splits off to the right as you enter the main entrance of the grounds (It'll be on the program map). For this event, the entire 40' x 60' tent will be ours. (You can also check out the press conferences throughout the fest, which are open to the public, cold water and assorted repartee always on hand.)

Menu: Thanks to a crack-of-dawn deli run into town, we'll have make-your-own sandwiches, chips, sodas, bottled water, and cake for dessert (If you have a VERY special event you would like memorialized in frosting, let us know!). Donations are very welcome to cover the cost, and don't forget to bring something for the literature/tape/CD exchange. In the spirit of the original hippies and Jesus people, this is your chance to exchange your unwanted books, music magazines, CD's, music T-shirts, etc. for someone else's, no charge.

As always, we'll have name tags, perhaps some awards, maybe some celebrities, and we definitely hope to have you and many, many other members of the Christian music on line community.

Send an email message to rmcbbq@tollbooth.org if you plan to attend. Include your name, email address, number in your party, where you are traveling from, and how you heard about the RMC, etc. BBQ/Picnic. We'll send out updates regularly.

I got this via an email list I'm on and they're cool with me posting it here
